While it delivers the same iconic golden crust and chewy texture as our Classic line, the Signature board is engineered for those who bake often and demand the highest standards of cleanliness and durability.

Modular by Design

We’ve replaced traditional staples with stainless steel snaps allowing you to fully remove the burlap covers in seconds. Now, you can easily scrub the wood surface, deep-clean the burlap, or swap in fresh covers whenever needed. It’s a professional-grade solution that ensures your boards remain as fresh as your bagels, year after year.

Sourced for a Lifetime

Safety is never an afterthought in our workshop. Like our Classic line, we use only untreated solid cedar and food-grade burlap woven with natural vegetable oils, never petroleum. Combined with rust-resistant stainless hardware, these boards are built to withstand a lifetime of high-heat environments and repeated water exposure without compromising your food’s integrity.

Care

Preparation: Soak boards in water for 5–10 minutes before baking. This prevents scorching in ovens up to 500°F and generates the steam required for a bakery-style crust.

Deep Cleaning: Hand-wash only. Simply unsnap the burlap for a thorough wash of both the fabric and the cedar plank. Allow to air-dry completely before storing.

Protection: To protect the wood from high heat and moisture, we recommend applying a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil every few months.

Questions

Is the Signature really worth the upgrade?

Honest answer: it depends on how often you bake and how much you care about sanitization. If you bake every week or you bake for events, the snap-removable covers pay for themselves within a year. Just replace the covers and keep the boards. If you care about cleanliness, removable covers are the only effective way to get trapped dough particles trapped between the burlap and boards.

Can I buy replacement covers?

Replacement covers aren't yet listed as a separate product, but they're coming. If you need replacements before they ship, send a note via the Contact page and we'll work something out.

Are the snaps food-safe?

Yes. The snaps are stainless steel, set into the wood, and don't contact the bagels during baking (the snaps are on the bottom of the boards). They've been tested through hundreds of bake cycles without corrosion.

How long does it take to ship?

Orders ship in 3–5 business days from the workshop in Colorado Springs. You'll get a tracking number by email when your package leaves. US shipping only at this time.

What if I want to return something?

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The product needs to come back unused, undamaged and with all original pieces. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility unless the item arrived defective. Send a note via the Contact page to start a return.

How do I take care of my products?

Bagel boards: soak in water before each use, hand-wash with mild soap, air-dry standing on edge, and rub on a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil every few months. Bagel stands: wipe with a damp cloth, do not soak. The finish is food-touch-safe but not dishwasher-safe. Product-specific care details live on each product page.

Where are these made?

Every board, kit, and stand is built one at a time in a one-person workshop in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Materials are sourced from US suppliers, with special attention on selecting high quality, food grade materials only.
