Craving that unmistakable New York-style crust? Our Classic Bagel Boards bring time-tested bakery traditions directly to your home kitchen. Designed to thrive in high-heat environments, these boards create the essential steam needed for a signature golden finish and a perfect chew, no commercial oven required. Whether you’re a weekend hobbyist or a dedicated dough-stretcher, these are the tools you’ll reach for every Sunday morning.

Built for performance

Standard bagel planks can be clumsy to handle in a hot oven. We’ve evolved the traditional design by integrating built-in handles for superior control. This modern twist allows for a seamless "flip" and safe removal, ensuring your focus stays on the bake, not the burn.

Sourced for safety

In a workshop, details matter. Most commercial burlap is treated with petroleum-based oils, but we source food-grade burlap woven with natural vegetable oils. Our solid cedar is kept raw and untreated, ensuring your family’s food never comes into contact with harmful chemicals. It’s professional-grade equipment that you can feel good about using.

Care

Preparation: Soak boards in water for 5–10 minutes before baking. This prevents scorching in ovens up to 500°F and generates the steam required for a bakery-style crust.

Cleaning: Hand-wash only. Allow to air-dry completely before storing.

Protection: To protect the wood from high heat and moisture, we recommend applying a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil every few months.

Questions

How is this different from the Signature Bagel Board?

Same cedar, same dimensions, same handle. The difference is the burlap covers: on the Classic, the burlap is stapled in place. On the Signature, the burlap is on snap-removable covers, so you can take them off to wash, replace them as they wear, or swap them between boards. The Signature takes the Classic one step farther with replaceable parts.

Why cedar?

Cedar holds water without warping, and it gives off a faint cedar aroma when it hits a hot oven that doesn't transfer to the bagels. It's been the wood of choice for bagel boards in New York shops for over a century.

What's in the "Boards + Tools" tier?

Two cedar bagel boards, plus a linen proofing towel, a plastic dough scraper, and a bagel-shaper tool that punches the hole. The tools are what make the difference between "I tried" and "I'm doing this every weekend now." If you already have these tools or want to use what you have, the Boards Only tier is the same boards without the extras.

How long does it take to ship?

Orders ship in 3–5 business days from the workshop in Colorado Springs. You'll get a tracking number by email when your package leaves. US shipping only at this time.

What if I want to return something?

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The product needs to come back unused, undamaged and with all original pieces. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility unless the item arrived defective. Send a note via the Contact page to start a return.

How do I take care of my products?

Bagel boards: soak in water before each use, hand-wash with mild soap, air-dry standing on edge, and rub on a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil every few months. Bagel stands: wipe with a damp cloth, do not soak. The finish is food-touch-safe but not dishwasher-safe. Product-specific care details live on each product page.

Where are these made?

Every board, kit, and stand is built one at a time in a one-person workshop in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Materials are sourced from US suppliers, with special attention on selecting high quality, food grade materials only.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes. Customer looking to place a large order, looking for specific materials or specific dimensions should send a note via the Contact page and we'll see what's possible.
